After two years of forced stop due to the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic, the most important fair in the sector in the world is finally back! The 28th edition of the Seafood Expo Global has been the first to be held at the new Spanish stage of Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, from 26 to 28 April 2022. Although the absence of important nations had already been confirmed, including Russia and China, the fair in its new guise aimed to break the already important attendance records established in recent years. The Seafood Expo Global is, in fact, the most important event in the world completely dedicated to the seafood industry, capable of bringing together the most important representatives of the sector from all over the world.
On the occasion of the first edition in the Catalan capital, this year we also had a brand new look, with a much larger and more refined stand where we also hosted our friends Rotogal and Murre. As for the machinery on display, in addition to the tried and tested but always innovative Economy Bag automatic packing machine, we showed the new version of the Mini Bag Trace, an automatic packing machine particularly dedicated to fragile products and small productions, which has a series of anti-break systems that never let the product fall by more than 20 centimeters. The machine has also been very popular with customers with space constraints, being less than 2.70 meters in height, generally having an incredibly compact size.
The setting up of our stand has been completed by the robust and economical bins tipper, by a bag closer with thermal printer that allows you to close the molluscs in net bags while applying a tag label, and by the brand new version of the electronic weighing belt, now with a completely open and easily sanitizable structure.
But that's not all! Thanks to the additional space that we had in our renewed stand, we had on display also the new light version of the manual clipper with thermal printer and the openable version of our roller brushing machine, an unsurpassed tool for cleaning mussels, oysters and other large shellfish (such as, for example, scallops).
The fair has been an opportunity to meet in person customers and friends from all over the world who have not been able to meet in the last two years due to the restrictions due to the pandemic, welcoming a total of 1,550 exhibiting companies from 76 different countries and representing an estimated economic impact up to €100 million for the city. The Expo occupied 39,847 m2 of net exhibit space spread over four halls. Diversified Communications estimated that more than 26,630 seafood buyers and suppliers from all around the globe attended the event, a notable figure.
We will wait for you at our stand next year, where you will be welcome as usual, and where you can have a taste of the most delicious Italian food and wine offerings. See you soon!
