The twenty-first edition of the European Seafood Expo 2013 was held this year in Brussels from April 23rd to 25th, and as always we have prepared our stand presenting some of our best products. This annual event is the largest European trade fair for the fish and seafood trade market, counting on the participation of more than 1,600 companies from all over the world.

This year we brought on display at our booth a particular type of packaging line that is becoming increasingly popular in the market of fresh shellfish: vacuum or modified atmosphere (ATM) packing. The weighing is always carried out via a multihead weigher, which ensures an accuracy of the order of the gram, such as for the mesh bag packaging line Economy Bag. The product, once discharged from the weigher, is dosed simultaneously in one or more trays, which are then hermetically sealed using a special plastic film. Visitors to the fair could also see in function the manual bag closer with thermal printer and the small debyssing machine type SB1.

The fair was, as usual, a great opportunity to meet several customers from Europe and the rest of the world's continents. This year we have recorded numerous visits by companies based in South America, especially from Chile, where the mussel farming industry is particularly developed. In fact, only in 2012, Europe imported frozen mussels from South America for a total value of 92 million euros.
