The 2014 edition of Seafood Expo Global, held in Brussels from 6 to 8 May, was the largest in the history of this renowned exhibition for seafood and shellfish processing, a 22-year long history. This annual event is the largest European fair dedicated to the fish and fish trade sector, counting on the participation of more than 1,700 companies from all over the world.
Innovation and the development of new products have been of great importance for this year's event. In particular, our customers, friends and new visitors to our booth have been able to appreciate the operation of the new Economy Bag Trace automatic packaging line for shellfish, which in its standard version offers the ability to be integrated with the client's management software and to create a traceability system for the shellfish processing and paking stages. In addition, there was a space dedicated to new types of mussel farming methods, with the auger/drum declumping machine capable of working up to 10 tons of mussels in one hour. We also registered a special interest in the new models of bin tippers and bag closers with thermal printer.
This year's show attracted 25,840 buyers and sellers from 150 countries, meeting 1,721 exhibiting companies from 77 countries, with the historic debut of the Japanese and Libyan national pavilions. Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global (16th year for the trade fair of seafood processing technologies) are together the largest international seafood trade fair, offering three days of business opportunities and networking. This year's event occupied more than 35,000 square feet of exhibition space.
